The accountant will prepare financial reports to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Enter primary accounting transactions as required which will range from daily, weekly, and monthly.
This will include be not limited to:
Processing Accounts payable transactions that include standard three-way verification to ensure proper classification and resolve any invoice discrepancies.
Work with management on processing weekly disbursements which may include processing checks and ACH payments.
Process customer deposits and apply to customer accounts.
Manage accounts receivable collections process and work with customer on outstanding amounts.
Support Administrative Manager with month-end close process including but not limited to the following:
Processing sales and inventory transactions to calculate month-end inventory balances.
Reconcile key accounts including customer and vendor accounts and general ledger accounts.
Works with Administrative Manager to review monthly activity and support preparation of monthly financial reports.
Maintain fixed asset schedule and review general ledger activity for fixed asset activity, add major purchased to company insurance.
Exercise integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, and comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Acts as Payroll backup.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent Three to five years of accounting experience Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
QuickBooks experience preferred.
Understanding of month end close process and account reconciliations.
Highly proficient with accounting software.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Self-motivated.
Team player, culture where everyone pitches in to assist others in the organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Physical Demands Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
